Alan

Ivy League PhD

I have a BS in "Computer Software" (meaning programming rather than hardware design). Most of my work for the BS was actually done at the Graduate level, which makes me eligible to teach CompSci at the college level according to most accrediting organizations. I have, in fact done so at five different colleges. Pascal was the language of choice when I was learning to program, so I had to learn it, and used it for many years until I switched to C++ and Java. It is a much better language than C for basic programming training, but lacks a standardized object oriented implementation. Read more

Ashleigh

Latin, Greek, History Tutor!

Struggling to figure out those ancient languages or learn which dates are important for a history class? Have no fear! It's very easy to break the "code" of how these subjects work! I'm a current graduate student at UCLA studying Latin and Greek with an emphasis on history. I love languages and history, and it would be a shame for a student to be discouraged from these great fields. I have tutored students (ages 9-17) and taught introductory college courses in both Latin and Greek; as well, ... Read more

In addition to my tutoring, I have taught Greek and Latin at the university level. As a lover of language in all its forms, I en... Read more

Joe

Economics, Public Policy, Bible, Theology

Teaching has been, in many ways, a natural outpouring of my desire to learn. Perhaps this is reflected in my desire to expand on my education at The Master's Seminary, where I served as class secretary in my final year. Since then I served as a pastor for several years, where I enjoyed helping others to think and learn. The greatest teaching instills both a desire and the skill to learn. It is not enough, and indeed can be stifling, to merely provide information for the student to regurgitat... Read more

Bradley

Passionate, Experienced Latin and Greek Tutor

I like to be attentive to how my students express themselves and always aim to present material in a way that is in sync with how they learn. This has allowed students I've worked with to feel comfortable opening up about their interests and frustrations with me so that I can make the subject more relevant to them and create more motivation to learn. I always try to gear the way I teach to my students' learning styles and make them feel less self-conscious and more confident about making mist... Read more
