Criminal Justice

I currently have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Lees-McRae College. In addition to having my BC in CJ, I have worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention as a Court Counselor.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been a teacher assistant and substitute teacher on the elementary school level. I was a teacher assistant for a year and have been a substitute teacher on and off for nearly 6 years. Before the EOG's I was hired by the school in which I mainly substitute as a tutor to help with kids who were low performing on various assessments.

Study Skills

Before the EOG's this year I was hired by the school principal to help those that were low performing in which I taught them reading strategies and study skills. More specifically, I worked in teaching them reading skills to help better prepare them for EOG type questions.

Special Needs

It is also during my subbing at the school, that I am only one of two people requested to sub in the special ed classroom. The teacher and ta in this room feel confident in my abilities to lead these students and often times sub back to back in this room in the absence of the teacher or ta. I am the first one contacted if they know of an absence that is upcoming as well as contacted if one becomes sick. It should also be noted that if I am unavailable the teacher will usually ask that no one else come into the classroom because the kids are comfortable dealing with me.
