My name is Marisa and I have a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Kansas and a M.A., also sociology, from Texas Woman's University. As an undergraduate I took a lot of writing and literature classes and I gained additional writing experience in graduate school. As an undergrad I realized that I wanted to pursue sociology and eventually teach. Currently I am an adjunct instructor at a local community college and I have 5 years teaching experience. In those 5 years I have realized that I love what I do. I enjoy interacting with students of all ages and helping them to learn in the way that best meets their needs. For me teaching is more than the passing information, it is an opportunity to help students realize their full potential.

I have about one year tutoring experience. I have helped students in both high school and college. I would love to work with you or your student to help build a plan to strengthen your writing, prepare for exams or simply help you improve your grade.
