I love to share "Aha" moments with my students!

I have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston. I taught both classes and labs while a graduate student and continued to teach Electrical Engineering at UH for 14 years after graduation. I am proud of the high scores I earned in the student evaluations that were administered by the department. While teaching in the EE Department I taught a wide range of classes but specialized in the graduate electronics sequence.

When our kids came along my wife and I home schooled them for several years and I taught science and math in a Home School partnership in my area.

I enjoy teaching. When teaching math and physics I try to relate the material to real world applications so that my students understand not just the how but the why of a subject. I do my best to make the material interesting and relevant. I have written a book on calculus, Essential Calculus with Motivational Problems, that reflects my effort to bring practical applications into my teaching.

During my career as an independent consultant I specialized in electronic circuit and system design and optimization. As a result of my varied experience I have presented and published 28 technical papers and hold 20 patents. During this time I used computers extensively, programming real world solutions using a variety of programming languages.

I look forward to helping you learn.

Bob is a great tutor! He is patient, and explains things very well!

Bob is a great tutor! He is patient and explained advanced topics in Electrical Engineering very well, making them easy to understand and easy to learn. Topics that I was beyond lost in class, and had wasted hours trying to figure out, only confusing/frustrating myself more. We did have some technology issues, but we worked through them, and continued the lesson. Bob really went above and beyond and is extremely dedicated to student success. I will be coming back whenever I need help!

Great Tutor, Very Knowledable

Thank you for your help. It was greatly appreciated. You took the time I need to make sure I understood the material. Thank you

Great teacher and great guy!

Bob helped me with a 2 stage, BJT amplifier for my lab. He reviewed my math and my breadboard build. He is obviously very knowledgeable, but what I really appreciated was how much he had looked over the materials I sent him before our lesson. He knew exactly what I was trying to do and gave me all the right pointers to correct what I was doing wrong. Bob will review your work carefully, so if you hire him, make sure to take advantage of that. Send him all your course materials and work. It'll help him, and it'll help you! He's also a really nice guy and has a great attitude.

Electronics II

Bob helped me understand dual stage bjt design better and even showed me how to improve the design based on the lab limitations. I will be seeking out his expertise the next time I get stuck on dual stage bjt/mos design.

Very concise and creative thinker

Working with Bob was great, he is a pro at all things circuit analysis. We went over Norton and Thevenin equivalent circuits. He's also got some nice tricks up his sleeve that I'll share with my friends. Definitely an excellent EE resource and possibly more knowledgeable than my professor.

Really knows his stuff!

Electrical circuit analysis is not an easy topic to learn. It involves the use of higher-order differential equations and linear algebra. Bob was able to jump right into the electrical engineering content I'm learning and provide accurate and concise help. Bob knew exactly what he was talking about; he's the real deal.

The Knowledge King

Bob taught me how to utilize the Digital Command Manual. It is a viable tool for any Technology professional. He explained concepts as we were working through real life scenarios. He was patient and answered questions, in general. Bob helped me to move closer to one of my goals of being able to explain, define, spell, pronounce and demonstrate my actions when executing commands. Bob did a fantastic job! Thank you, Bob.
