Hi! My name is Chris, I was an English and Theatre double major in college with a specialty in creative writing, and a History and Psychology minor. I have experience with all ages from elementary school to college level.
I have been teachers aids where I both graded tests and papers and helped tutor students who benefited from one on one time. In college I worked in the writing lab where students would go with an array of questions from structuring paper to finding out where to even begin. I also worked at the Boys & Girls Club where I thought creative writing to students ranging in age from 8-14, I also taught a theater class there as well where I introduced kids to various one act plays.
Post college I have taken several classes with legendary writers, worked on film sets, had articles published and peer reviewed works of my colleagues. I have continued to keep in close contact with some of my mentors from the past who continue to help me grow to this day, and I hope that I can have that effect on anyone I can help!
I believe that with the right teacher anyone can improve and learn, and not only that but do so in a way that is fun and engaging. I’ve taught writing and history using everything from video games to sports. I hope that I can be of some assistance to you and create an atmosphere where you gain new confidence and assurance that you have the ability to forge your own path and tackle any obstacles that may come your way. Just taking the first step to seek help speaks volumes and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you! Thank you!
