I have a PhD from the University of Florida and a Psychology degree from Baldwin Wallace College. Since 2003, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of courses at various colleges and universities, including the University of Florida and the University of North Florida, where I was honored by students with multiple teaching awards (including The National Society of Collegiate Scholars Honorary Membership Award, honoring outstanding contributions to the classroom, the campus, and the community, The Disability Resource Center Professor Empowerment Award, honoring professors who promote students’ learning and growth, multiple “Osprey Ovations,” honoring professors who positively impact the lives of students at the University of North Florida, and multiple nominations for the Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award).

My work is grounded in an understanding of the philosophy of science, research methods, and evidence-based learning theory. I have taught the history of psychology (which includes the history of philosophy), research methods, and learning theory for many years and recently co-authored a scholarly article on my approach to education and mentoring in a journal.

I look forward to hearing from students who are interested in the kind of transformative learning that I myself have experienced and have observed in my own mentees and students. Please feel free to contact me to learn more and/or schedule lessons.
