I'm a graduate of University of Michigan with a bachelor of Science and concentration in Biochemistry, Wayne State University with MBA in Finance/ Global Supply Chain, and currently enrolled in Pharmaceutical Chemistry MS program at the University of Florida. I have over eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical field as a quality control Chemist while concurrently teaching different levels of General Chemistry at Broward College.

Throughout all this years I have spent studying, I developed the need for continuous education in order to always improve the person I am, and I would love to pass on the passion I have for learning to young students who are struggling to build the strong theoretical foundation needed to build a stronger future.

As a parent for two young boys, I have learned to become more patient and observant to my kids need in order to promote their development.

I have a very strong background in Sciences in general and Chemistry in particular, Math, Arabic and French.

Arabic

I'm originally from Lebanon, a small Arabic country located in the Middle East. I have studied Arabic as my first language throughout all my school years. I scored one of the highest grades in writing for my high school Arabic literature writing exam. Even though I have been living in the US for years now, I still maintain Arabic as my first language, and the one spoken at home. I also constantly tutor young Arabic kids who are born in the US in order to get them to learn their parents’ first language. When teaching Arabic to kids and adults, I found it most beneficial to use the communicative approach. This approach is emphasized by encouraging students to acquire communicative competence through continuous practices in the session. The goal is to have the student become conversationally competent. Therefore the nature of learning highly involves students’ participation. This approach views language as a form of communication. Linguistic competence, the knowledge of forms and meanings is, however, just one part of communicative competence. Therefore the learner needs knowledge of forms, and meanings, and functions. For example, when teaching kids their first Arabic lessons, I start with the alphabets by writing it in shapes of animals this way it becomes easier for kids to memorize. I also I try to engage the students by letting them define the letter by its sound. Toward the end of every session, we play a game where kids have to identify shapes and sounds through the usage of alphabets. By using this approach I have had students under the age of 10 years old learn how to read simple sentences in 4-6 weeks.
