Tutoring runs in the family. My father was a teacher almost all his life, and my senior sister was also a teacher for many years until she got a promotion. As for me, tutoring comes really easy especially when it has to do with one on one classes since that gives me the opportunity to interact better with my student.

In my home country Cameroon in Central Africa, I taught children between the ages of 7-17 in the school owned by the refinery where I was employed for close to 20 years.
As a Master of Arts Degree holder in Translation (French-English), and a Bachelor of Arts Degree holder in languages (English/French combined), I have a mastery of the two languages.
Tutoring comes easy. First and foremost as a mother of 3 (now grown children) I did a lot of home schooling for them and my neighbor's kids.
I try to make learning as interesting as possible, using visual aids, songs, rote memorization, games. I also make my students know that there is nothing they cannot do as long as they have a positive attitude, are determined and disciplined. I know how to make them love and look forward to learning something new everyday.
When I meet my students for the first time, I make them take a placement test (reading, writing, comprehension, dictation, spelling...) to determine their strong and weak areas.
I teach adults but I prefer children because they are more real and true to themselves.
