Bio

I have loved and enjoyed mathematics since at least elementary school. I desire to help others come to enjoy or at least not hate their experiences with mathematics. I enjoy tutoring students whether they are just trying to successfully fulfill a requirement or desire to pursue a career in mathematics. Seeing student improve is quite rewarding.

Teaching experience includes teaching precalculus and business precalculus at a four-year university.

Tutoring experience includes coordinating the math lab at another four-year university.

I have tutored subjects including high school algebra, college algebra, calculus I, II, & III, statistics, contemporary mathematics, linear algebra, and upper level math classes.

I graduated college with a B.S. in Mathematics in less than 3 years with a 4.0. My undergraduate research was in the area of Discrete Mathematics. My graduate research area was in applied mathematics.

I have experience taking numerous standardized tests and am glad to help prepare others to excel in these.

Math

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

My bachelor honors thesis was on a question from graph theory which is a portion of discrete mathematics. Completing this thesis required a considerable knowledge of discrete mathematics. I carried out consider research of the existing literature in the field using online resources, inter-library loan, and visiting half dozen university libraries. After this I wrote proofs hoping to expand the field. I also tutored topics from the field of discrete mathematics while math lab coordinator at North Greenville University.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

My research in both undergrad and graduate school covered areas of this subject. Matrices, graph theory, doing things with finite set are areas of mathematics that I enjoy. I also did some research in finite elements (which use finite/numerical processes to solve problems on computers).
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

In college I took linear algebra and obtained an A. I have also obtained an A in Abstract Algebra which comes after Linear Algebra. I tutored students in both these classes while a math lab tutor (later coordinator) for North Greenville University.
Logic,

Logic

Logic is considered part of at least two fields philosophy and mathematics. Writing proofs is an exercise in logic. From High School math competitions through graduate school logic has been an important tools used I used and studied. I graduated college with a B.S. in Mathematics in less than 3 years. My expertise and formal training in logic area is in formal proofs, not oral arguments or debate. On general persuasion side of things I have listed to hundreds or thousands of hours of oral arguments and been involved in the political process, but that is primarily outside the area of my formal training.

Very Patient

He's a good guy and he knows how to explain Statistics well. His experience shows, and I'm happy he was able to help me.
