Great support!

Great ability to explain concepts and expand concept knowledge with use of visuals, internet sites, and even graphing. Sean offers a wealth of resources for your student to utilize, even after the lessons, and has a personality that works well with teens. He has always answered every call, and is consistently prompt in arriving for his lessons. He also offers support through e-mail in reviewing your students work and giving feedback. Also, supports each lesson as to how to study material for final exam!

Knowledgeable and great explainer

Sean has a great understanding about what teachers will ask on tests, and the critical concepts to master in Honors Bio. He was able to outline and explain the toughest ideas.

Great Tutor!

Sean did a great job helping my daughter review her BioChem test. He was able to explain the materials in a way that she understood it easily. She was very lucky to have Sean as her tutor. Looking forward to next session with Sean.

Excellent Tutor

Sean did a great job helping my son on his AP Bio class. My son had difficulty in the beginning of the semester and was very lucky to have Sean as his tutor. My son has got 800 in SAT II and scored 5 in AP exam this year. Great job Sean and thanks so much for your help!

Very patient, thorough and reliable!

Sean did an outstanding job assisting our daughter in preparing for her SAT II exam in Biology. He provided her with excellent tools to prepare for the exam and took the time to explain concepts clearly. He also was very flexible with his time which provided her with a weekly session despite her very busy schedule. She received a perfect score of 800 on the exam. We couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you Sean!

Uncaring and irresponsible about keeping appointments

I hired Sean to tutor my son for a college level biology course that he was having a difficult time with and was told that due to the poor quality of teaching by the professor that he would need biweekly sessions to succeed to which I readily agreed. Sean never showed up for half of the appointments and a lot of the time never even called to cancel leaving my son sitting there with his books waiting for him. When we were finally able to reach him his excuses were family issues, his hot water heater broke, he had to take his kids to sports practices, that he had to coach his high school track team, and we once found him in Basking Ridge tutoring someone else during my son's time. He admitted that he charges extra for traveling longer distances. Everything seemed to have more importance then the commitment that he made to my son. By the time that I realized that he could not be trusted it was too late to find anyone else. During the week of his final my son set up several appointments with Sean hoping to make up the time that was missed only to have him not call or show up until my husband got in touch with him. My son was in tears knowing that he had little chance of passing the course due to the lack of continuity in tutoring. He finally showed up at 8:00 the night before the final with an attitude.

Tutor responded:

Much of the information in this feedback has been misconstrued. However, I do wish your son and family the very best.

Great! Goes above and beyond!

As a high school teacher, Sean not only knows biology inside and out, he knows how to prepare students for tests. He teaches for understanding, not rote memorization, and also teaches test-taking skills. He came prepared with lesson plans that included helpful online videos, and even spent extra preparation time to read the website of my daughter's teacher. He was available to answer questions or review assignments by email. He is enthusiastic and warm, loves biology and cares about the success of his students. He was prompt for all lessons, willing to schedule multiple lessons per week (we engaged him in the middle of fourth quarter, when my daughter was in imminent danger of failing 9th grade honors biology), and quick to respond to emails. If you get Sean, you've won the Tutor Lottery!
