Hi there! I am a writer and teacher with more than 5 years' experience teaching reading, writing, college counseling, and a variety of other subjects. I graduated from Harvard University in 2019 with a degree in Comparative Literature, where I was awarded the Edward Eager Memorial Prize for Poetry. Since graduating, I have worked as a freelance writer, editorial assistant, grant writer, translator, and copyeditor, and my writing has been featured in many online publications. I am fluent in French and German, and have advanced reading proficiency in Latin.

As a tutor, I am patient and understanding, and adapt myself to students' needs in order to ensure the best possible learning experience. I had a great experience working with Carl on my German-speaking abilities. He is a natural, clearly very knowledgeable instructor, and adapted quickly to my needs — even identifying and helping me work through some weaknesses in my work that I had no idea were holding me back! He also made our session very comfortable and fun, which put me at ease and, I think, encouraged my performance, because I found myself much less nervous than I usually am while speaking German! I can’t recommend Carl enough for German or any other subject, and will definitely be working with him again myself!
