Hello, my name is Ricardo. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University of Sacramento with a Bachelors degree in Career and Technical Studies as well as a Masters degree from National University in Education with a specialization in special education. As an educator in California, I have passed numerous competency examination in multiple subjects (CBEST and CSET) as well as reading instruction (RICA). I enjoy working in a variety of subjects in math from Elementary up to Algebra I or Integrated Math I. I am a former athlete and have been blessed to have some amazing mentors that have taught me to be resilient, persevere and have an overall positive outlook in life. Most importantly to never give up. I believe that as learners we are adept to learn anything we put our minds to. I will definitely be a positive role model and teacher to your learner and I try to bring this approach to all my students.

I have tutored sporadically throughout my career with a variety of students and bring nine plus years in the educational setting working with a variety of learners. I currently am teaching Integrated Math I at the high school level as well as English 9 and 10 at Wheatland High School. Although, I am a high school teacher, I do have young children of my own so I am happy to work with the younger crowd as well. I also help my students one on one with writing personal story narratives, argumentative essays, persuasive and more of Common Core teaching requirements.

I bring a multi team approach to learning where I will gather data from three sources, observation, parent and school work samples, as well as assessment to help determine your learners strengths and areas of need. We will focus on working on areas need as well as helping with homework or assignments that will help the learner build up their strength in the area they need assistance with.
