Hello, my name is Mark! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education, with a certificate in Music Theory.

I have experience student teaching at the elementary, middle and high school levels, working as an elementary school paraprofessional, as well as teaching at the high school level. I believe that an education in music, no matter your age or prior experience, is rewarding and valuable.

My passions lie in brass instruments as well as music theory, and I love using different tools and technology to teach these subjects to my students. Whether it is Canvas, Google Classroom, or a platform I have not used before, I learn quickly and am excited to use technology. I am eager to learn about my student's reasons for being interested in music and what they enjoy about it! Developing this understanding allows me to tailor my material for each individual student and keep lessons engaging and fun.

When I'm not practicing or reading about music, you can find me learning different languages (I'm working on Spanish and Japanese now!), and looking up and trying different recipes to make from scratch - my favorites are German, Italian, and Korean!

*For music theory and ear training students, 30 minute and 60 minute lessons are available right away. For trombone students, a trial lesson of 15-20 minutes works best before longer lessons, so we can see if I'm the right tutor for you!
