I'm Ben! I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, but on my journey to that, I spent two years studying engineering and math before switching.
I know firsthand how intimidating math can be. While I'm studying for my teaching credential and Master's in Education, I've spent the last semester as a long-term substitute teacher for Algebra 2 and Introduction to Data Science. While I love working with students in groups, one of my favorite parts of the job is one-on-one tutoring. As part of this math long-term assignment, I've offered twice-weekly tutoring to help students brush up on areas of growth. I take care to identify where students are at in their understanding, what their goals are, and what their learning style is, and how they're motivated. Using this approach I've been able to help dozens of students to build their understanding and confidence, and I look forward to being able to help many more.
I really want students to get as much as possible out of tutoring sessions, so I'm always open to resources, suggestions, or feedback. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a session, please don't hesitate to reach out!
