Having earned a UCLA Certificate in College Counseling (with distinction), I am here to supply expert advice and assist you every step of the way in the college process. My areas of expertise include freshman applicants, transfer students, international admissions, graduate school applicants, performing arts students, and those with special needs. By sharing my knowledge and experience, students and their families can make informed life decisions that will save money and the possible need to transfer. We start by identifying your goals and dreams. We then chart a course that will best maximize your chances of reaching that aim. I also construct a timeline so that critical deadlines will not be missed. My assistance in the college process includes, but is not limited to, forming a targeted balanced list of schools (taking into account admission chances), editing and brainstorming for compelling and winning college essays, application assistance, scholarship search, assistance with financial forms, transfer college help, planning a college tour, mock interviews, curriculum and extracurricular advice to maximize your chances of admission, and standardized test prep guidance (SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement Exams, and SAT II Subject Tests). As an employee of a test-prep company, I am well informed on standardized tests. I am committed to helping each and every student realize success in the college process by putting in the extra effort it takes to be meticulous in detail, creative in writing the essays, and smart in forming an admission strategy.

Although I have a cancellation policy, I am flexible in scheduling makeup lessons. I am anxious to meet with you and help you on your college journey!

I will keep you organized through constant reminders, frequent meetings, emails, and phone calls. I am always available for questions and support.

Career Development

In the UCLA College Counseling Program we studied exploring career choices and identifying college majors. We worked with students that were undecided about a career path and helped them to decide on their goals. I am knowledgeable on different psychological testing such as Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs, and Keirsey Temperament Sorter among other methods to determine appropriate career paths. I also use College Board's Big Future Tool and Book of Majors to match schools and programs in addition to other methods.

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor

Pam helped me to edit the CV for a Master application. I am a international student, who is not familiar with the Wyzant online meeting system. However, Pam is so patient to help me to set everything up. I highly recommend her to be your tutor.

Helpful tutor

Pam is a great tutor! She has helped me edit all my college applications and guided me through prompts I wasn't sure how to answer. She definitely takes the student's views and opinions into consideration and helps alter their essays in a way that really suits them and leaves them content. She is also a very efficient worker, where she gets right down to what needs to be done as soon as the session starts. Definitely worth every penny!

Very Knowledgeable College Counseling

Pam meet with us and went over important milestone for college entrance. She is very up to date on the current SAT and what is expected for entrance into many colleges. She brought with her a packet she made for the colleges we where most interested in and gave us other ones to look at based of the proposed major. Her information was much more then just the standard google search results or generic handouts. She did not try to up sell or use scare tactics like we had seen at some of the big name brick and mortar college counseling services. Pam was also very familiar with the local high school and help to suggest what AP classes to take next year. highly recommend.
