I have found a second career that I absolutely love-that of substitute teacher and tutor.

After a very successful career as a Human Resources/Labor Relations executive, I was looking for a meaningful way to give back and a satisfying occupation.

After two years experience, I find I can intuitively understand a students needs and match my skills with an ability to supplement their learning.

Many teachers that I substitute for request my services again!

In my 30 year career, my managers always complimented me as an excellent writer. Part of that, of course, is an excellent vocabulary and the ability to make a compelling case though clear and well-ordered writing; whatever the topic.
I have also done much public speaking as a corporate trainer and in introducing complicated employee benefits items, policies and procedures and in current issues within my compan(ies).

A key to my success is to make learning as interesting and fun as possible. I use creative exercises to teach basic information. Student reaction to my approach has always been well received as I get many "Hi Mr. Sheil! as I stroll from one classroom to the next!
