I hold my New York state teaching certification in Elementary Education 1-6 and Special Education 1-9. I spent the past two years teaching third grade. I have been tutoring since 2005. When I moved to Nashville in August of 2012, I began tutoring as well. I currently tutor elementary students at University School of Nashville. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Technology K - 12 and am working on my second Master's degree in Deaf Education PreK - 12.

I have been tutoring for years and over the last few years I have worked with middle and high schoolers on study skills and organization. We work on taking the study guide, or chapter, whatever their test may be on and breaking it down into smaller, more manageable chunks. That way they aren't cramming the night before. I also make it more fun and memorable by creating games, such as memory match, with concepts and making foldables. We also work on making sure they know the material and can teach it to someone else. I have several studying and organizational skills I can use with students, and this also incorporates time management skills.

Made spelling fun!

Amber did a great job of keeping my 8 year old son interested in his spelling lessons. He never complained about having to study once she taught us all her games and tricks.
