The phrase "Every grain of rice wasted in this life will starve in the next" carries a significant meaning about the importance of being grateful for our resources and the difficulty of growing rice. It highlights the harm caused by unnoticed waste and reminds us to cherish what we have, making a conscious effort to minimize waste.

Education is a valuable resource often overlooked. Just as every nurtured grain of rice has the power to nourish and sustain, education holds the ability to shape and transform our futures. My personal experience has taught me to appreciate education deeply. I come from a family of refugees who, despite facing extreme hardships during a civil war in their homeland and after their arrival in America, worked hard to provide opportunities for their children that they never had.

Fueled by my passion for education, my goal is to make a positive impact on others. In my teaching, I emphasize hands-on learning and adapt to each student's learning style to encourage active engagement with the material. My aim is to help students reach their full potential and provide them with the tools for success. Hard work and dedication can make anyone's dreams a reality. I am proud to support students to success and fulfillment and aim to make a lasting impact in their lives.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra is the language through which we describe patterns and is rudimentary to a lot of future subjects such as chemistry, physics, and even biology. Once you achieve an understanding of algebra, the higher-level math subjects become accessible to you. I strongly believe that basics must be first understood in order to understand the foundations of other subjects. Without the basics, it's impossible to move forward. Having many years of experience teaching math and having taught algebra in high school and college will help me to guide the student to their goals. With my background and passion for tutoring I am confident I would be a great tutor in algebra 1.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

You've completed algebra 1 and understood topics of linear equations, inequalities, and functions. I now welcome you to algebra 2, which is touch on systems of equations, inequalities, exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these fancy terms fool you. My passion and years of teaching math at the college level make me a great candidate to tutor algebra 2. I have helped tutor numerous students in this area. I feel very comfortable helping students reach their goals in this area.
Biology,

Biology

Biology is the basics to a more in depth and specific topics such as Microbiology (which is what my degree is in), Physiology, Food science, Medicine and even some Animal science degrees. Biology is a fun topic when you can understand the concepts and materials. As a microbiologist and a candidate for the MCAT 2015, I often have to review my biology extensively!
Chemistry,

Chemistry

As a scientist, I am required to know chemistry and often review them for my MCATs.
Physics,

As a pre-medical student, I often have to review physics for the MCATs.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Helping students (K through college, adults) with pre-algebra had always been my passion! I've started out assisting my friends in math in middle school (since I've always received better grades than them), then moved to high school and college, where I aced every exams in math. My expertise in mathematics had encouraged me to tutor. Students who were tutored under me find themselves approaching problems with ease and in the process had a lot fun!

Math

ACT Math,

ACT Math

Embarking on my ACT journey, I faced the challenge of scoring a 16 in the math section – far from my aspirations. However, through dedicated and intensive study, I mastered the concepts and refined my approach. The transformation was astounding. On my second attempt, my score soared to an impressive 36. This significant improvement not only secured admissions to multiple universities but also positioned me above the standard curve compared to fellow test-takers. Having navigated the complexities of the ACT, I comprehend the intricacies of the exam, having taken it twice myself. I am eager to share my insights and strategies to guide you toward substantial score enhancements. Let's work together to unravel the secrets of ACT math, turning challenges into triumphs. Your success story awaits!

Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Big, fancy term, right? Don't be intimidated or fooled! Breaking the terminology down, look at the prefix, tri-, or "trig-" as it's sometimes called) means three, which you can already see that in math, the only shape that has three sides is the triangle. You would be right! Trig is the study of the properties of triangles. Why is it important? It's used in measuring precise distances, particularly in industries like satellite systems and sciences like astronomy. You might think I'm weird, but trigonometry is actually my favorite topic in math. I could honestly do trig problems all day! Out of the students in my class in high school, I was the only one who scores 100% on every trig exams!!! I really love trigonometry! Students who were tutored under me find themselves approaching problems with ease and in the process had a lot fun!

ACT Science

When I took my first ACT science, I scored a 17 on the exam, which isn't very good! After studying intensively and understanding the concepts and questions, I retook the ACT science for the second time and scored a 36, which was a huge improvement compared to a 17. I received admissions from several Colorado universities and was above the standard curve scores in comparison to other students. I understand how hard the ACT was during the time of test-taking, especially since I took the ACT twice. I can help you tremendously improve your score!
Anatomy,

Anatomy

I took a 300 level course of Human Gross Anatomy and a dissection Human Gross Anatomy in college. Studying anatomy is heavily on memorization, but also understanding how each muscles, bones, veins, arteries...etc is named. When you have a strong understanding these names, you will have an easier time memorizing them. Being pre-med, it is recommended that I review anatomy because when you don't use it, you lose it!

very smart and patient tutor

Diana is very intuitive to the needs of my son. She has tailored to lessons to fit his personality, which can be inattentive at times. She absolutely loves math and has found a way to make the lessons interactive to keep him involved. Her assessments of my son and his abilities were right on, only after a 1 hour lesson. She even said an exact quote that his own Algebra teacher said. Diana is a rare gem. We love her.

Prepared, personalized, and fun!

Diana was great with my daughter. She proactively asked for topics and materials before the session to prepare. It was obvious during her lesson that Diana prepared which made the lesson so much more personal and productive. My daughter came out of the session with a huge smile on a subject she has struggled with. That's a 5 star in my book.

Knowledgeable and patient

She helped me understand how to write a lab report for a college biology class. She took her time to explain things and made sure I understood each concept before moving on. I would definitely see her again.

Diana is awesome!

She really helps me understand the algebraic problems that I need to work on in order to succeed in this class. I'll do the problems, and we'll compare notes. If I get something wrong, we dissect the question until I get the right answer.

We did the session online and it was great!

My daughter is getting tutored for the Math portion of the ACT. We did the session online and it was great! Diana was patient with my daughter in reviewing essential formulas and going through problems. We are having a two-hour session this weekend. Highly recommend her. Thanks!
