I also have an MBA in Finance and Public Policy from The Wharton School, where I earned admission into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. I was extremely successful in customizing my approach to each member of that crew, so I can certainly do it for you or your child. Let's put it this way: They would "rehire" me every night, so I must have done something right!

I would love to assist you. Thank you for your consideration.

MTLE

Taking the MTLE Mathematics exam can be a daunting task. Because its goal is to test your classroom readiness across the spectrum of content, it covers a lot of ground. This breadth can make it hard to know how to prepare. Luckily, if you understand how the test is organized and what it is testing, you will have no problem prepping for this test. In order to cover everything, the exam is broken into two subtests – which are then broken down into a total of five subareas Number Sense / Functions, Algebra, and Calculus / Measurement and Geometry / Data, Probability, and Discrete Math / Mathematical Processes). I have a B.A. in Applied Mathematics (including Statistics) and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated with a 3.96 GPA. I also have an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School. I have taken two SAT prep courses, with transferable skills to the ACT, GMAT, GRE, ASVAB and other standardized tests. The skills I have acquired through my education and thousands of hours of tutoring will fit perfectly to enable you to maximize your score on the MTLE Mathematics exam. Let's work together to enable you to achieve your goals!

CBEST

The questions in the CBEST Mathematics section require you to solve mathematical problems. Most of the questions are presented as word problems. The questions are from three skill factors: (1) estimation, measurement, and statistical principles; (2) computation and problem solving; and (3) numerical and graphic relationships. Considering that I have a B.A. in Applied Mathematics (including Statistics) from The Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated with a 3.96 GPA, as well as having tutored in these exact subjects for 13 years, I certainly have the transferable skills to enable you to excel on your CBEST exam. COOP/HSPT,

COOP/HSPT

The HSPT is the most commonly used high school entrance test given to 8th-grade students applying to private Catholic schools. The test may be taken only once. If applying to multiple schools, the same result will be submitted. If multiple tests are taken, the lower score is considered to be the final score. The HSPT is extremely challenging because it tests students in five areas of learning that measure verbal ability, quantitative ability, reading comprehension, mathematics, and components of written language It follows more of the traditional curriculum so students who are not exposed to this kind of course program may exceptionally find the test difficult and need to prepare more. The HSPT has the largest time constraint of the tests. There are approximately 300 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 2 hours and 30 minutes so students only have 30 seconds to answer each question. Verbal skills are measured through analogies and logic-based questions. Math and quantitative skills are tested through basic knowledge and skills in arithmetic, geometry, and algebra. I am ready, willing, and able to share my mastery of these subjects with YOU!
ISEE,

ISEE

The Middle Level Exam is given to students applying for entrance to seventh or eighth grade, while the Upper Level Exam is given to students applying for entrance to ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade. For both exams, the Quantitative Reasoning section focuses primarily on problem-solving skills and critical thinking. There are 18-21 word problems and 14-17 quantitative comparison questions for a total of 37 questions. Of the 37 questions, 32 are scored and 5 are unscored. My vast experience in ASVAB, SAT, and GRE quantitative tutoring, as well as my undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University (3.96 GPA), equip me perfectly to be able to assist your student to excel on the ISEE exam. Let's chat and get on the road to success!

SOL,

SOL

The Standards of Learning (SOL) for Virginia Public Schools establish minimum expectations for what students should know and be able to do at the end of each grade or course in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Social Science, and other subjects. SOL tests measure the success of students in meeting the Board of Education’s expectations for learning and achievement. All items on SOL tests are reviewed by Virginia classroom teachers for accuracy and fairness, and teachers also assist the Virginia Board of Education in setting proficiency standards for the tests. The growth assessments for the SOL include algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, all for which I have significant expertise. With my strong educational background (B.A. in Applied Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University with Phi Beta Kappa honors) and vast tutoring experience (over 3000 hours on Wyzant), I can assist you in not only meeting, but mastering your academic readiness. I look forward to working with you.

ASVAB Tutor

Jeff is AWESOME!!! My son struggled with the math portion of the ASVAB test and had no faith in himself. Jeff gave him the confidence and the necessary tools to finally pass. He worked around our schedule and was always available when needed. I truly believe that this would not have happened if he was not seeing Jeff. My son enjoyed every minute he was with Jeff. He is truly a wonderful, kind and kid friendly gentleman.. In my opinion THE BEST!!! Thank you again for all that you have done for my son.

Exceptionally Joyful & Intelligent!

After my first session with Jeff, I immediately knew that I had found the perfect tutor for me! Jeff is exceptionally knowledgable and patient. He is always in the most positive, upbeat mood (super helpful when reviewing quantitative material), and goes out of his way to ensure that I fully understand the problem. I really enjoy working with Jeff, and he has alleviated a lot of confusion that I initially had when preparing for the GRE. Highly recommend!

The best!

I have been working with Jeff since early October to obtain a higher asvab score. Throughout my two months of working with Jeff he was nothing short of patient, reassuring, humorous, and knowledgeable. Jeff allowed me to work at my own pace every time and when I felt I had did something wrong- he walked me through every step to ensure I knew where I had made a mistake; whether it was simple or complex. To say I recommend Jeff is an understatement, everyone deserves to know and tutor with Jeff. His one of a kind approach and tricks helped me excel scoring above what I intended too. Jeff there are no words to thank you! You rock!
