I have a B.A. and M.A. in English literature. I've taught middle school and high school math and English for 11 plus years - I've also had extensive tutoring experience (over 20 years), from 10 year olds to adults for the GRE. I pride myself on my flexibility in teaching concepts and my receptivity to different ideas. I would love to teach you and learn from you as well.
I graduated from Punahou in 99 and I'm currently a math kumu at Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama. I've also taught at Damien High School in town and at Assets High School. (In Pasadena, CA, I taught at Southwestern Academy.) I look forward to doing my best to help you understand the material--no matter the subject!
From 2014-2019, I've been volunteering in South Africa running math workshops for local teachers in rural, underserved areas with a non-profit called Teachers Across Borders to help raise the level of education in the country. 2020 was a no go because of Covid, sadly, but I hope to continue volunteering in the future.
Thanks for the view!
