In addition to a Masters Degree in applied mathematics, I am a certified resource center teacher and can accommodate many learning styles.

I have been a college mathematics professor for 15 years, teaching courses in College Algebra, Statistics, Calculus, and Remedial Mathematics at the following colleges: Diablo Valley Community College in Pleasant Hill, California; California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California; the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York; and Columbia Greene Community College in Hudson, New York. I have tutored many students, including adult learners returning to school to pursue professional degrees.

Not only do I help my students understand the required subject matter, I instill confidence and enthusiasm in my students, motivating them to be active learners and problem solvers.

Knowledgeable, kind, and skilled.

Just because someone is knowledgeable about a subject, doesn't make them a good tutor/instructor. Mary Ann is everything you'd want in a statistics tutor. She is knowledgeable about the subject (obviously, given she has been a stats professor), but more importantly, she excels at teaching it in a way that's easy to understand. I have a severe math learning disability that makes this material extra difficult, and she is patient, kind, and thorough in her approach - and excellent at checking in with me to make sure I'm understanding. Highly recommend Mary Ann for stats tutoring!
