First of all, I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida. My previous employment opportunities include working for three years with students with math disabilities as well as teaching a small group of students Calculus. Currently, I am in my 14th year teaching math courses at the Community College of Vermont. The math courses I have taught or am teaching include: Basic Mathematics, Basic Algebra, Mathematical Concepts, College Algebra, and Statistics. Besides teaching throughout the years, I have tutored students with various levels of mathematics from 7th through 12th grade as well as college students.

One of the first things I do when I meet with a student is talk to the individual to pinpoint those areas causing difficulties. For example, I will ask how the student performs on test. During the sessions, I will notice areas to improve, such as does the student have difficulties with performing operations with fractions. Also, I discuss test taking strategies to assist the student in improving test grades. Throughout the sessions, I have students solve problems to see where they are making mistakes. Students have a different approach to solving problems, so I work with what method works best for each students' learning style. Throughout the years, students, as well as parents, are pleased with the results not only with grades but study skills.
