Hi my name is Julia! I am a NJ certified Elementary School Teacher with Middle School Mathematics Specialization (Grades 5-8). I earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in Middle School Mathematics from Kean University and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Educational Technology & Online Learning. I have 4 years of classroom teaching experience (both in person & online) and 10+ years private tutoring experience. In the classroom, I have experience teaching quite the array of subjects: I have taught Basic Skills Math in grades K-8, and been a classroom teacher in both 1st Grade and 6th Grade. I have also taught Middle School Advanced Math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra.

My real area of expertise is Mathematics: I love to help students achieve their learning goals, see their own potential in math, and see how fun it can really be. I can tutor in everything from Kindergarten basic math, through all Elementary, Middle and High School math up to College Algebra II. I maintained above a 3.5 GPA through all of my college Mathematics courses, including Statistics, Proofs, Matrix & Linear Algebra (& Algebra II), and Calculus (I, II, III). I am available to help tutor any of these subjects!

I am also passionate about helping aspiring teachers pass the Praxis exams. When the scoring was out of a possible 200 points, I earned a 198 on the Elementary Ed. Mathematics Subtest, and above average scores in all other core academic areas, as well as on the Middle School Mathematics exam. I would love to continue helping the future of education master these exams.

I believe in a student-centered approach to learning and I tailor all of my lessons to meet each student’s specific needs and learning style.
