Los Angeles based drummer and composer Malachi W. strives to create sounds and rhythms that inspire, uplift, and promote peace to world communities. Malachi is an accomplished educator and composer who has collaborated on commissions and master classes with organizations such as SFJAZZ, Monterey Jazz Festival, and Stanford Jazz Workshop. Aside from these achievements, he is also a recipient of various Downbeat student awards. As a Bay Area Native, Malachi was a member of various jazz all-star ensembles including The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, SFJAZZ All-Stars, California Jazz Conservatory All-Stars, Brubeck Colony, and New Generation Jazz Orchestra, all of which hold prestigious alumni such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Benny Green, Thomas Pridgen, Justin Brown, and Joshua Redman.
