Good day, my name is Mr. Jones, and I am excited to work with you. I have a background in education, holding both a bachelor's and master's degree in education, as well as having 4 years of experience being the teacher of record in classes from 6th grade to high school freshman. During my time in undergrad, I also spent a year tutoring collegiate level math, where, among plenty of other students, I helped a student who was on their 3rd time taking pre-algebra finally pass. I have been passionate about education and math since I was in high school and my teachers made a huge impact on my future.
In high school, I was somewhat of an outcast due to social issues, but my teachers helped me to connect with other students and learn more about who I was as a person and a leader. Since then, I have wanted to give back to the world of education and be the teacher that I needed when I was in school. That led me to pursue and education degree for my undergrad, where I graduated from University of Georgia in 2015. During that process, I began to work with leadership camp programs and corporate teambuilding programs. Through these programs, I developed very strong interpersonal skills that can be translated into education through leading questions, innovative processes, and other such areas.
I eventually came to the classroom, pursuing my master's degree while working full time in the Nashville TN area, as an 8th grad and 9th grade teacher. Shortly after finishing my master's degree, I returned to Georgia to be closer to family, and since then have help the position of teacher of record in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math classrooms. I hope to use all of the skills I have developed to give personalized tutoring to students who need it through Wyzant.
