Physics, Mathematics, Business, and Engineering, the STEM disciplines, can be difficult subjects even for advanced high school and university students alike. Why not get top-tier tutoring in your subject area as well as those you may be taking concurrently, and greatly augment your chances for educational and career success?

Your tutor is a retired college educator possessing university training in each of the disciplines of Physics (BS), Engineering (BS/MS), Mathematics (MS), and Business (MBA and Doctoral-O.R.). I am sufficiently trained to help you up through the 2nd year of graduate study in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, and Operations Research.

In 1987, I was invited to the James J. Forrestal Lab (PPPL) of Princeton University to present a short talk on how to contain high energy fusion plasmas in the Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor. As serendipity would have it, my solution turned out to be correct, and the approach was implemented both there and in the M.I.T. Versator.

I especially enjoy working with graduate and doctoral students. If you are studying at the advanced level, especially in Probability or Operations Research, and need help beyond your graduate colleagues or teaching assistants, then email me. This is in-depth tutoring, for the serious student.

As an adjunct to my usual instruction, I am also available for tutoring in courses that may benefit the Engineering student: Materials Science, Solid State Physics, Fluid Mechanics, and Basic Control Theory (Laplace transforms). Contact me if you're having difficulty in any of these educational pursuits.

My further tutoring skills include working with topics in Symbolic Logic, Mathematical Proofs, and Truth Tables.

I am not the least expensive professional here. That's so we don't waste each other's time. Choosing the path of knowledge is far better than choosing the path of non-knowledge. Or paraphrasing the remarks of a Harvard president, "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance."

I am a Mathematician and Physicist and have been programming computers in both Applesoft BASIC and Dartmouth BASIC for years. My professional experience is in FORmula TRANslation (Fortran), where I have solved several numerical Eigenvalue problems, either by adapting parts of standard code or writing my own. Due to the power of Excel, many elementary to advanced programs can be written via this package, which in fact, I do take advantage of. I also have a great library of MAPLE programs and Statistical packages and have used some Mathematica. However, I have a minimal passing familiarity with C and C++.

In the more "reading-based" courses of Western Philosophy, such as Kant, Nietzsche, Hegel, Hume (my favorite), Russell (another favorite), and the ancient ones: Socrates, Aristotle and Plato, we delve into their formulations and discover their main theses and range of applications. Most importantly we attempt to understand whether they answer ANY existential question at all, and that is Science.

I'll schedule you in for at least one hour. I supply notes, on my own time, after each session. I tutor this subject for MBA Students at Ohio University and Capital University. I've had three courses in graduate school: Micro, Macro and Managerial Economy (calculus-based). Typical topics include how a firm or industry operates within the constraints of its economy: Monopoly, Oligopoly, Perfect Competition, and Monopolistic Competition. Additionally, comparative advantage/disadvantage is discussed in each of these with respect to the fundamental concept of exchange: Supply-Demand, whether Capital, Labor, Money, Interest, Opportunity cost, etc.

Highly proficient in Operations Management at the MBA level!

Professor V is an outstanding tutor/instructor! I'm currently enrolled in a rigorous Operations course (at the MBA level) yet Professor V was able to break complicated concepts down into rudimentary parts that I could easily understand. He is certainly one of the best, if not the best, tutor that I've had on this platform.

Amazing Tutor

Richard is a retired professor and was an incredible tutor for me in Managerial Econ as someone with no quant background. He was able to illuminate numerous concepts and formulas in a way that made it easy to understand. He also is great at doing accents and makes the lesson very fun and enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

A pleasure to work with

Prof. V. helped me with a quantitative methods class for a bachelor's degree in business. I was feeling completely overwhelmed before meeting with him. He put me at ease and addressed every issue I was battling with great patience and humor. He has been a pleasure to work with.

Amazing instructor

Student says, “Well, that was helpful.” Parent says, “Like Totally Excellent!!!” (with an air guitar in hand). Great communication and engagement of student; Encouraging and providing good positive, immediate reinforcement; First good learning on the topic, since the beginning of subject exposure. The student looks forward to sessions and is remembering WHY she loves math ~ after having the joy stripped away from years of battling old teaching structures and methods.
