Bio

I have extensive experience teaching Greek, especially one-on-one. I have taught Greek in the Washington, DC area for many years at various language schools, and at the Foreign Service Institute at the State Department. I am also fluent in German. I have a B.A. from the University of Maryland in German Language and Literature. I have taught German in the past and I am currently taking advanced courses in German at George Mason University.

Very Patien and Knowledgeable

Valerie is a great tutor. She is very patient and knowledgeable in her Greek skills and has the ability to get the language across to the student in a way that makes lessons fun and the learning easy. I was a beginner at Greek and she helped me learn vocabulary in a conversational way as well as provided typical classroom teachings. I’m very happy to have worked with her!

We reached out to Valerie when we were looking for a Greek tutor for our 6 year old son. She has been wonderful and somehow has been able to keep out son engaged and focused. She is patient beyond words and goes with the flow when he starts to veer off topic. In only a few shorts weeks my son is understanding and READING Greek.
