I have extensive tutoring experience, collectively over 3,000 hours in over 30 subjects. In May of 2016 I graduated Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif from SMU Dedman School of Law and am a licensed attorney practicing corporate law (Capital Markets & Securities and Mergers and Acquisitions) at the largest international law firm in Dallas. Previously, I completed two master's degrees, one in politics and the other analytic philosophy. My undergraduate work was completed at Cedarville University in Ohio with an emphasis in Education. I continue to tutor in spite of my busy career because I love the process of putting together a plan with my students and leading them to the accomplishment of their goals - whether that is admittance to Harvard Law, a full ride scholarship, or a better grade in a class. I know how to get the results you are looking for and in addition have provided substantial career counseling for those interested in entering the legal profession.

I have mastered the art and science of test prep and have a proven system to get maximal results from my students. I realize that many students do not naturally love the educational process and so my goal is to make the tutoring experience not only academically beneficial, but also enjoyable and engaging. I have become the go-to tutor for standardized test in Dallas and have seen remarkable results! I use challenging inductive and deductive teaching methods, and encourage my students to practice what we learn together through repetition and analysis. I have experience in a broad array of subjects and look forward to the chance to put together a plan for you!

If you have any questions about me or my qualifications, do not hesitate to ask! I love talking with potential students and I hope to hear from you soon.

Public Speaking,

Public Speaking

My public speaking background is fairly expansive. My undergraduate education of course included basic courses in public speaking, but also required 21 credits of classes practicing developing and delivering a speech. This experience has fostered an acute acumen for how to prepare to execute a speech that connects with the audience no matter the context. I teach a memorable strategy that will keep you on track and make the speech process far less painful. Furthermore, my graduate degree in theology required an additional six credit hours in public speaking. These classes were designed to teach a method for analyzing the subject and the audience in order to ensure effective communication. I look forward to working with you and easing your public speaking anxieties!

Elementary (K-6th)

My undergraduate degree in education included extensive training in educational theory and practice of elementary aged children including learning styles, models of education, and the use of a variety of techniques. Included as part of my degree was a 12 credit hour internship focusing on youth education in which I spent the semester writing and preparing lesson plans, teaching on a wide range of topics, and tutoring students in one on one situations. This education was coupled by experience mentoring and teaching children in a variety of contexts including religious, charities, and after school programs, which gives me a healthy background in understanding the developing minds of children and their educational needs. Some of these contexts such as elementary after school tutoring and curriculum creation for a second grade course were particularly helpful. Furthermore, I have spent significant time over the last 4 months tutoring many elementary students in reading, grammar, English, math, and spelling. These sessions been very productive for both improving student grades and comprehension and also help guide my planning for future students. Each child is unique and I create an environment in which everyone can learn effectively.

Dave is Awesome!

After not being able to find a suitable tutor, I found WyzAnt online. I was hesitant with this method of finding someone, but decided I would give it a try. After reviewing many, many profiles, I selected Dave. Well, Dave was the right tutor for our son - he is awesome! He had a very flexible schedule and was able to work around our son's busy school and high school football schedule. He was always on-time and got right to business. He was friendly, down-to-earth, patient, knowledgeable, and cared about our son and his performance in school and on the upcoming SAT/ACT exams. He was easy to stay in touch with and understanding if a scheduled tutoring needed to be rescheduled. I would recommend Dave for any kind of tutoring he offers. He is a top-notch tutor!
