Hello! I'm looking forward to working with you and your student. I've been a writing tutor since 2012, and have worked with a wide variety of students at the collegiate level at three different universities now. I LOVE words and empowering student with the mastery of language and the writing arts! Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone feel like they can see the improvement in their own writing, and understanding the power of words. Even good writers can get better.

In 2015, I earned a Bachelor's degree from Aquinas College in English Language & Literature. After that, I worked as a paraprofessional in a kindergarten classroom, where I worked with students on their reading skills--I enjoy working with young children just as much as I enjoy working with young adults! I then went on to work on a Master's in English with a specialization in Composition & Rhetoric, which I finished in 2019, and I've worked in a university setting since then.

During my time as a writing tutor, I've seen a lot! I worked closely with a Russian Ph.D student on his dissertation on atom-smashing at CERN, and was the technical writer on a grant proposal of a group of parasitologists trying to collect samples throughout South America. I spent two years of my tutoring career working with Arabic-speaking immigrants and refugees in Lincoln, Nebraska, while I was working on my master's thesis--which was about the training of writing tutors. My favorite student to work with a high schooler writing for their college applications and scholarship letters. Nowadays, during the day, I work with college first-years in a developmental writing class, but have taught honors seminars and upper-division writing classes. My versatility is boon to you, especially if you are preparing for college writing!

I am also well-versed in English and American literature, teaching reading comprehension, and am a capable academic coach to teach study skills, college preparation, and time management.
