I have taught at various levels for most of my life. While in high school and through undergraduate school I taught swimming lesson to children and adults. I was a laboratory instructor at the University of Delaware when I was finishing my doctoral work, where I instructed sophomore to 5th year seniors in a chemistry lab. I have experience working a a tutor. As a tutor I have worked with middle school and high school students in both the sciences and math. The sciences I have instructed include Physics, Anatomy/Physiology, and Chemistry. The areas of math I have instructed include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Calculus, Cambridge Math, and Common Core Math. Finally, I have tutored several students in SAT and ACT testing.

For a bit more about my educational background, please consider the following. I attended high school in upstate New York, where I received a Regent Diploma. I have an Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry, Marine Biology, and History from Roger Williams University. My graduate education was in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware, where I received an Masters of Applied Science and a Doctorate.

I truly enjoy teaching. My favorite experience is to see the student have that "A-HA" moment. That very instance when they truly understand a concept.

Terrific tutor!

Dave is tutoring my daughter in Physics. She has only had one tutoring session and is already feeling more confident. Dave is personable and really relates to the student. He presents the material in a way that can be comprehended. Very dependable, considerate, knowledgeable. Given his educational background, very well versed in science and math. I would highly recommend!

Keeping us near top of class

Working a little each week to be ahead of the teacher and well prepped for each new topic. Algebra seems too easy now. Dave makes the hard stuff seem manageable.

My daughter expressed how David makes geometry fun and explains the concepts so well she’s understanding with him what her teacher didn’t explain during the school year. He even gave her tips on remembering certain formulas in order to be able to solve the problem.
