I am a published author, who prides himself on being able to reach non-academic audiences. I hold a Master's Degree in History from Central Michigan University, and have a broad knowledge of world history and a very deep knowledge of U.S. History. I have also been twice published in Michigan History Magazine.

My tutoring style is that of an entertaining educator. Students need to know names and dates, it is true, but they also need to understand the ideas behind history's most important events. I firmly believe that by understanding the themes and ideas of history, it becomes easier to remember the names and dates on exams. What I do is break down complicated events into digestible bites, which help the student put things in context. Then I seek to address their difficulties, getting to the root of the problem.
