Since 2012, I have taught the following high school classes: Biology (regular, pre-AP, and AP), Chemistry, Physics (regular and AP), ESL Biology, IPC, A&P, and all levels of German.
I graduated with my Master's degree in science education in 2015, and I have been writing curriculum for my district since 2013.
Currently I am teaching for Frisco ISD.

I am offering German lessons for every level, beginner to advanced, including conversation, test preparation, and reading German literature. Since every student has different interests and needs, I customize the lessons and reading materials to fit the individual student. For adult learners, my specialties are medical and technical German, and business German.

I am tutoring all science subjects from K through 12, and some subjects on a college level as well. Sciences concepts can be hard to understand , and I am generally able to break down the concepts to make them easier to comprehend, often with the help of manipulatives and hands-on material, such as molecular kits, microscopes, or games.

I am a certified science teacher and curriculum writer, and teach ad tutor students from kindergarten to college level in the different sciences: physical science, biology, chemistry, and physics. I have lots of hands on material in my office, because kids gain a much greater understanding by doing than by just watching, reading, or listening. Many of the materials are relevant and familiar to the younger students, and I frequently address common misconceptions in science. My ten years of teaching experience also includes special education and gifted/talented education.

Genetics,

Genetics

I am currently a student with major in Biology, minor in health care, and a certificate in teaching composite science for high school. I have had courses in general Biology, Mendelian Genetics, Molecular Genetics, and some research in human genetics and behavioral genetics. My experience in Mendelian Genetics includes the computation of genetic traits with one, two or more alleles by using either Punnett squares or computational trees, as well as the chi square computation of genetic traits and alleles in a population. I have knowledge about Hardy-Weinberg equations, and the effect of reproductive genetics on populations, such as bottleneck effects, founder effect, mutations and evolutionary changes promoting survival of certain alleles. I have studied the mechanisms of molecular genetics, DNA sequences, their analysis and DNA testing. I am familiar with the techniques to study and evaluate, isolate, recombine and amplify genes, and techniques to find genes in organisms. My studies included biotechnology in the pharmaceutic industry, agriculture, bacterial use, and the use in genetic testing and gene therapy, and the implications, problems and advances. I have knowledge about mutations and the mechanisms of cancer, oncogenes, and DNA repair. Last but not least I have studied cases of behavioral genetics in humans and closely related mammalian species. The studies of behavioral genetics included disease frequencies of mental diseases such as bipolar, schizophrenia, handedness, and twin studies.

Special Needs

I studied special education from 1990 - 1995 at the College for Special Education in Germany, and hold a degree in SPED since 1995. I have worked for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Germany from 1990 to 1997, with specialty in children with physical and emotional disabilities. The children were in high school and transition classes and I taught all subjects with an emphasis in life skills and work skills. My studies included research projects about muscular dystrophy and epilepsy. From 1997 to 2003 I worked mainly with adults with physical disabilities and sense disabilities (blind and deaf), and learned American sign language and Braille writing. Starting in 2006 to 2009 I took additional courses in child development and special education. In the school year of 2007/2008 I served for Cedar Hill ISD as a level III educational aide in an elementary school, teaching a class of emotionally disabled children grades K through 5. The subjects I taught were Math, Biology, History, Art, PE, and English. I wrote the entire year's curriculum in art, PE and science education for the class and taught these classes on my own, and assisted the classroom teacher in the other subjects. At the end of the school year, almost all children could be released to the regular classrooms, and my class had won an art contest. In the schoolyear 2008/2009 I worked for Plano ISD for an elementary school, teaching children in inclusion classrooms. Besides behavior management and study skills, the main subjects were English, Math and life sciences. I worked with children with cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, ADHD, autism and emotional disabilities, using a variety of teaching techniques, from hands on learning, to computer assisted lessons, TAKS preparation, tutoring, one-on-one lessons, pictograms, and sign language. Today I am teaching high school science classes, and several of my students have disabilities. I pride myself in giving these kids the best education and accommodations in my classes, and to keep regular contact with their parent

Excellent Bio tutor

My son is a freshman in high school and missed many days due to quarantine. In one lesson, Sean was able to teach him all that he missed and get him comfortable with the material. My son is generally not a fan of on-line learning, but he found this on-line session to be great. We would highly recommend Sean to anyone needing biology assistance!
