Overwhelmed at the thought of studying for the MCAT and not sure where to start? Struggling with improving a score on a particular section? Having trouble applying your content review knowledge to actual AAMC questions? Don't let the MCAT stand in the way of your dream of becoming a doctor. A little about me...
I graduated from Duke University cum laude and with Distinction in Biology in May 2022. I promptly moved up to Boston to start work as a computational biologist in a cancer biology lab at Harvard Medical School. I studied for the MCAT for four months during the fall of 2022 alongside my full-time job and took the MCAT on January 13th, 2023 scoring a 521 (C/P: 132 | CARS: 130 | B/B: 131 | P/S: 128) on my first attempt. I applied to medical school this summer, interviewed at Columbia, UChicago, Dartmouth, and Mount Sinai, and will be starting at Icahn SOM at Mount Sinai this summer.
I served as an undergraduate teaching assistant at Duke for 2 years teaching Discrete Math in CS and Computer Architecture. I enjoy seeing my students succeed and adapt my approach as I realize what works best for them. Above all, I believe in the power of encouragement and the impact of a positive mindset on performance.
