I'm a first year PhD student in the Biomedical engineering department at UC Santa Cruz studying bioinformatics and genetics. Prior to this I received both my M.S. in Laboratory Medicine (Virology), and my B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Washington. I love to teach by making the content relatable to the real world. I have experience as a private tutor as well as a TA.
In addition to the coursework from my degrees in Laboratory Medicine and Microbiology, I've been working in academic research in various capacities as an undergraduate, M.S. student, research scientist, and now again as a PhD student. If needed, I can provide publications on request.
I think the most effective way to teach is to make the content exciting to learn. Given they do the reading I ask them to do, my students have regularly achieved 90%+ on their exams.
