Hello! I teach college level students about African and African-American culture and history. My undergraduate degree is from the UCLA (cultural anthropology and African American Studies). My advanced degree is from Harvard University (anthropology). I have traveled extensively in West Africa and I have led summer abroad study tours to Ghana and Benin, West Africa.
My teaching experience stretches back to my undergraduate years at UCLA when I tutored K-12 students in under-served communities in Los Angeles. At Harvard University I have four years of experience as a Teaching Fellow for courses in cultural anthropology, history, Africana studies, and sociology. I have four years of experience as a University lecturer in the social sciences. I am a patient, empathetic teacher with a deep commitment to social diversity and equality. I am looking forward to working with K-12 and college students on their reading, essay writing, and reading skills. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
