Who says that learning has to be boring?

I feel that learning should be something you enjoy. I try to use different ways to make learning fun as well as easy. Hands-on projects have helped me understand anything I need to learn. Using what I learn in real life helps to understand the subject. Sometimes I may use music and rhyme for remembering information. I feel that anything fun can be used in education.

When I was in school I was blessed to have teachers who really wanted to help their students. They inspired me to become a teacher as well. When a subject is too hard to take in I believe in breaking it down into little pieces, that way it is easier to understand. Then once the pieces are comprehended we can begin to put them all together.

This type of teaching I've done at the Center for Autism. Many students from all levels of the spectrum function well by using this technique. Using plain terms and language helps with understanding as well. Applying the subject to everyday life helps the students relate to what they are studying. Music, pictures, worksheets, I use them all to simplified and explain whatever it is that the student is having trouble with. Granted I'm not perfect, but I will work hard along with the student as well.
Education is key to almost everything in our world. However learning doesn't stop and start in the classroom. Life itself is an ongoing learning experience. Teachers, tutors and educators must do everything we can to give our students the tools to help become the adults they were meant to be.
