I have a MA in English from Georgetown University and a BS in English from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Reading and writing are skills that can be strengthened and enhanced with practice. Put another way, all of us--and I do mean all of us--need help in learning how to become better readers and writers.

I currently teach reading and writing skills at Camden County Community College in New Jersey. I also work in the college's academic skills tutoring lab. I specialize in helping students gain confidence in how to better comprehend both basic and college-level texts, in addition to helping them write clearer and sharper essays. My approach is to get a sense of where an individual needs work, and they tailor a plan to help bolster those skill sets. My focus will be on helping you understand what good readers and writers do---that is, how to take an active approach to reading assignments and how to tame the process of writing assignments.

In large measure, once you gain some skill and confidence in how to approach a reading or writing assignment, you can transfer that skill to all your classes.

I love working with students who need both a boost of confidence and a straightforward approach to tackling reading and writing assignments. The process of becoming a better reader and writer is challenging and worthwhile---and absolutely worth the effort.
