Hi, my name is Bob. I have worked as a math and computing tutor for several years. In fact, I began my tutoring in college, and I have taught courses as part of my jobs in many companies. I really love teaching and working with students one-on-one.

A good tutor can guide a student in the right direction and save the student hours of frustration and days searching online. I specialize in computing topics including Web Design, Perl, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript., and in math topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and SAT and ACT Math.

I explain concepts in everyday language, but I also include the necessary mathematical terminology. My first and most important objective is to ensure that students are able to work problems and apply reasoning skills on their own, to find solutions. It is very important to me that my students do well on homework and exams.

I approach mathematics with applications in mind. I have a B.S. in physics from CalTech, and a Ph.D. In Informatics from UCSF. I have worked in medicine, pharmacology, aerospace, healthcare computing, 3D visualization, and analysis.I have worked with students enrolled in a variety of programs including nursing, informatics, engineering, business, and finance. I have also worked with many high school students over the years. I hope soon to work with you!

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I am currently tutoring another student for the Algebra 2 ACT Compass exam. We are working on functions, and composition, and absolute value, and quadratics. I can help with all of that and much more. I have a degree in Physics, and I have used math in my work on 3D visualization for many years. I have tutored math at all levels for high school and college for a few years in Bainbridge. I really enjoy one-on-one work focused on the needs for a single student.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I scored at the top on SAT Math years ago. I currently tutor all high school and college level math classes. We use an approach that builds on strengths and reinforces the concepts necessary for success on the Math test as currently delivered.

Math

ACT Math,

ACT Math

The ACT Math exam is very much an overall test on Algebra I and II and Geometry with a tiny bit of Trig thrown in. I helped a college student pass at a high level when he was starting with just Algebra skills. He was able to choose any level for math continuing when he was admitted. I use review problems from public sites to find gaps and then teach to those issues, guided by the student's comfort for the topics. I scrored 800 on the SAT Math and I am certain we can improve your scores on the ACT.

Robert is My GO-TO Tutor!

I have had many tutors but I know I can always rely on Robert! He is the best. Some of the reasons why I choose Robert as a tutor: He is very prompt in his responses. Setting up appointments with him is easy. He is a good communicator both online over text and online over video sessions. He is kind and understanding even when I have been late to appointments or slow to catch onto concepts. He can handle any difficult subject I throw at him and explain it to me with clarity. He has great availability and is flexible to my schedule. I know he cares about my learning! Even though I want to keep him as my own personal tutor, I would recommend Robert to everyone!!
