Nice to meet you! I'm Amanda, and I have years of teaching experience in three countries (Mexico, Colombia, and US). My experience is with children, adults, and adolescents. My expertise is language acquisition, especially in the areas of writing and speaking. I have taught English Writing to adults, Spanish language to adults, and English and Spanish immersion to children grades K-6 in reading, writing, science, and math. When it comes to language, you "use it or lose it." However, they also need specific instruction and feedback on new vocabulary...and that's where I can help!

My English qualifications are ESL/ESOL, Reading, Writing, Spelling/Phonics, Math (grades K-8), and Adult Education Reading and Writing.

We speak Spanish at home. I have my BA in Spanish Language and Literature, and I lived in Mexico and Colombia for three years. My expertise is boosting immersion students' Spanish reading levels and/or grammar and conversation with adults learning Spanish.

I am a certified teacher and follow the Minnesota State Standards in all my teaching practice.

Getting to know you and enjoying our time together is very important to me as a tutor. I would to help you and/or your child make personal goals and celebrate with you as you achieve them!

Looking forward to working with you!

Patient, fun and prepared!

Amanda was already at the specified location when we arrived. She greeted us with a smile and a hand shake and seemed eager to get to know my son. She came with materials chosen for my son's current reading level and seemed very interested in getting to know him before the session began. They worked on his reading and she gave him some great tips for choosing books at his level. My son enjoyed his session with her and We would love to see Amanda again!
