Bio

I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems as well as an MBA in Management Information Systems. My first year in college was in Manhattan College where I pursued a Mechanical Engineering degree. My dad was an engineer as well as an architect and he advised me to change degrees due to the poor job availability for engineers in 1973. I have two girls, one who lives in New Hampshire and the other at home, 25 and 22 respectively.

I love golf, basketball, football while I very much enjoyed coaching my daughters in both town and CYO areas. I have been described as a mentor/coach in the way that I guide children as well as young adults to learn new skills.

I started my consulting company in 1982 and performed as CEO, marketing and sales head, as well as consultant. My consulting roles included Project Manager, Program Manager, and Sr Business Analyst.
We were a very viable software company for the Arch Diocese of NYC as well as partners with Lucent/Avaya in selling and administrating wireless networks.

Before I am called in to create/change processes I need to understand the present "as-is" before I create or make changes to the "to-be". This makes everything more effective while saving money and time.

I look forward to working with you .... and guiding you through your learning adventures.

Approved Subjects

Computer

COBOL,

COBOL

I initially learned COBOL at Fordham University where I received my BS in Computer Information Systems in 1977. I coded COBOL batch as well as CICS for twenty years before becoming a Project Manager. My wife still codes for her company and regularly asks me how to do things in COBOL, and i am always correct. Even as a Project Manager I worked with my senior codes and guided them through completion of their tasks. My COBOL mantra was....why code a new program when you could use a template and complete it in hours rather than days,
Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project

My function as a Project/Program Manager required me to create and manage Project Plans for the last twenty years or so. I regularly reported on progress, budget and timing. I had requested many project plans for the analysts that worked for me but was met with the following statement "Bob, I can't give you a project plan because you will hold me to it". Well I had to respond with "is that not the reason that we create one?".

Sports/Recreation

Basketball

Basketball

I coached young girls basketball both within the township I lived in and CYO. I had girls of all abilities play the girls while I coached them and regularly had comments from the parents and children alike...that they never had a better time while learning how to play basketball...as an individual as well as within a team. In fact the girls had such fun with me that they followed me on the sidelines and urged their teammates to greatness. As you might know some super teams are created by parents but mine were chosen at random and we were always competitive...right to the end.
