We are living in a very fluid time but one thing is certain. Language Arts competency is at the forefront of all aspects of future success, be it career or college first. The current disruptions in education can be detrimental to a student's ability to achieve the full benefit of Language Arts. Critical thinking skills that are so important to future success and decision making, and successful, creative, verbal, and written expression are cultural mainstays.

Language Arts encompass multiple key components that work together to develop a solid foundation that is applicable to succeeding in all other disciplines. Key Language Arts modules include reading, comprehension, vocabulary, basic linguistics, sentence formation, structure, organizing ideas, spelling, writing, and rhetoric.
But...before all of the didactics, a platform of communication must be established with the student to engage them. I achieve this by meeting each individual student at their comprehension level, identifying their areas of struggle, and their interests, and working from that point forward to get them to grade level or beyond.

Thankfully neurodiversity has found its place in current education standards. Research has shown that neurodiverse students do not have a learning disability, but rather have different neuropathways and unique learning styles. Public education programs sometimes struggle with time and technique, making private individualized tutoring sessions a mainstay of neurodiverse education.

Highly Recommend

I would like to highly recommend Cheryl O. for tutoring reading, writing and comprehension. My son has been seeing her for the past six months, with individual sessions. He was struggling to keep up with the basics of reading & comprehension in the third grade. Cheryl is very versatile in using all kinds of techniques to help with reading and writing. While reading for fluency, they would also be working on vocabulary at the same time. For my son reading comprehension was a weak point, so they would work on identify the main concept and supporting details of a book. She would ask meaningful questions in order for him to understand the text. She is patient and kind with him. Cheryl uses positive reinforcement. And is really encouraging to him when he is having a hard time. I was thrilled with the progress my son has made in a short time. He has now raised his grade in reading up two letter grades. The sessions were an hour long & very reasonably priced.
