Common Core

I am an Elementary Education major at Central Michigan Univeristy. I am finishing up my student teaching in December 2015. I have spent numerous hours studying the curriculum of the common core, all while creating grade level lessons based on common core.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am an Elementary Education major from Central Michigan Univeristy. I will soon be certified to teach K-6 students, December 2015. I have spent many hours subbing in K-12 classrooms as well as student teaching currently in a first grade classroom.

Handwriting

I am a student teacher in a first grade classroom where handwriting skills are practiced each day. I have the skill to teach and assist with letter formation and neatness.

Phonics

As an elementary education major- phonics has been a large part of my studies. I have experience with teaching segmenting and blending sounds, and also introducing new letters. I have experience with guided reading as well.

Reading

I have been participating in guided reading groups for a first grade class while student teaching since September. Also, while earning my Elementary Education degree, I was enrolled in numerous courses centered around reading. I have the resources to conduct guided reading with small groups and individual students.
