Teaching technique, timing, and rhythm within various styles of hand percussion.

What will you learn?
Once you learn the four basic tones of
African hand drumming, have even more fun learning various Latin, Afro-Cuban, African and popular beats!
Lessons will primarily focus on the conga drum, also including other Latin ,African drums and other percussion instruments.
Instruction is available at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
I will also provide historical information about the drums and the world of hand drumming, in addition to various rhythms and their traditional origins.

I am also available for instruction in General music, Poetry, Song Writing, Basketball, Baseball and Softball.

Born into the Chicago poetry scene in the mid '90s, Journey's passion for entertaining soon blossomed. He became a regular at various open mics on Chicago’s North and West sides. This is an award winning poet and composer who has been inspired by fellow West siders like Maria McCray, Reggie Gibson and Avery R Young. Journey’s smooth delivery and unique word-play launched him into a position to host his own open mic at a North side cafe. This was the catalyst behind his development of a network of likeminded poets, singers and musicians. That endeavor lead to a Neo-Soul jam band based in Chicago, of which Journey is co-founder.
