I am an adjunct professor at various community colleges. I have both a bachelor's and master's in geology and have taught oceanography and geology (labs and lectures). I taught geology labs during graduate school and tutored geology students while I was an undergrad.

I love working with students one-on-one to help them recognize how they learn best. I believe that a relaxed, judge-free environment is a very important aspect of learning. Within this environment, students can open up and feel vulnerable rather than feeling judged or "looking stupid."

Higher education is all about figuring out how your brain works and how to apply the knowledge you've gained to the real world. I am here to help you with that process!

As a "young" professor, I feel like students have an easier time relating to me and I am still very familiar with what it's like to be a student. Sometimes a large age gap can make a student feel very removed from the teacher, but I offer both perspectives which can really help a student that is struggling with the material.

My tutoring and teaching experiences also provides me with a plethora of experience working with a variety of learning styles and personalities.
