Hello, I’m Amanda, a Mechanical Engineer with 8 years of experience working with advanced sensors and green technology. As an engineer, I have lots of practice applying the math and science I've learned in the classroom to the projects and problems in the lab. I am still using geometry and algebra I learned in high school for my job today. After finishing my undergraduate degree at UCSB and my Master's at Purdue, I've found that everyone can use some help in areas they are brand new to or in subjects they've excelled at.

I have been a tutor for Compass Education Group for over a year helping students prepare for the SAT and ACT Exams. I have gained experience and skills in teaching high school-level students within a broad range of topics within Math and Science. I have worked with a few students who faced learning challenges and adjusted my teaching approach accordingly.

I want to help students get excited about STEM and utilize their skills to feel more confident in the classroom.
