I have even published a book and software package used by several universities in numerical analysis and the C programming language.

I tutor all levels of undergraduate college mathematics. I like to focus on calculus.

I love teaching students who really want to learn and have set a goal, but are either behind or are not connecting with their teachers. Math can be easy and fun when you understand the key concepts.

My teaching style is to ask my students focused on questions that cause them to think, and then determine the correct answers for themselves. I then like to show multiple ways to solve the same problem and how to verify the answer as being correct. This is the difference between a 'B' student and an 'A' student. I also believe in teaching how covered math concepts apply to our everyday lives.

I tutor my students remotely or from my Home office in McKinney, TX.

Excellent Calculus and Physics Tutor

After one school year of experience working with Harold T., we highly recommend him as a Calculus and Physics tutor. Our daughter's stress level went down and her grades went up. She now has one of the highest grades in her Physics class. Harold T. is excellent at making the Calculus and Physics concepts easier to understand by applying them to real life examples. Communicates well. Energetic. Makes learning fun. Very accommodating and responsive to our schedule requests/changes. We are grateful that we found Harold T. We have tried other tutors but he stands out because not only does he communicate and relate well, but he has a superior knowledge of the subject matter.

Top-notch and go above and beyond

Mr. Toomey was by far the most down to Earth tutor that I have had the opportunity to work with. Not only is he very easy to communicate with, but I scheduled a few sessions with other Physics tutors, but he was by far the best and most helpful. Physics is a tough subject and he understands how to simplify the learning process. Additionally, he is not only very knowledgeable but also willing to work with you as often as he can because he is dedicated to his student's success. Mr. Toomey is a top-notch tutor and goes above and beyond for his students.

Makes Learning Fun

My job required the use of advanced excel and macros which I had not learned in school. I met with Harold several times to get educated. His teaching methods were so enjoyable that I continued on to learn basic computer concepts. He made learning fun. I spent several months meeting with him where he simplified excel and programming concepts to ensure that I could apply them. Harold is an excellent and patient teacher and I was very fortunate to use his services

Harold is the best!

Harold is a patient, fun, and great tutor! He helped me shoot my C grade to an A in College Calculus 2!  We covered topics such as L’Hopital, integration, differential equations, convergence tests, Taylor/Maclaurin series, and more. Harold broke it down for me and has this innate ability to build up the concepts where I was able to clearly understand them and boost my grade and confidence. He has an amazing “bag of tricks”, communicates well and is fun to talk to. I am majoring in cybersecurity and learned that Harold is a cybersecurity professional and I’ve continued lessons with him to supplement my education.  We are beginning to cover Java and cybersecurity concepts.  I highly recommend Harold!

Professional and knowledgeable

Dr.Harold is a Java wizard, fast and competent and great at verbalizing his thought process so you can learn how he achieved a certain answer specially in cryptography and java, I was having a problem in cipher implementation and he was so helpful. I have enjoyed working with him and I will definitely be asking for his assistance again. Highly recommended for java and cryptography.
