I knew I wanted to be in a para-medical line and what would be better than Microbiology! I bear double master's degrees in Microbiology. Over eight years I worked in environmental and clinical microbiology research in industry. My industrial experience includes Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Ohio), UCLA ( LA), Quest Diagnostics (Valencia), Thermofisher Scientific ( South San Francisco) and Roche (Pleasanton).

My teaching experience started while working on masters degree. I taught industrial microbiology and soil microbiology to graduate students. I taught clinical molecular microbiology to medical technology students. I love teaching microbiology as it gives me joy and satisfaction. When I was student, I liked tutors who helped me understand concepts. I am one of those tutors who wants to go above and beyond to make sure that the student clearly understands concepts.

It will be my pleasure to teach you. But it will be a greater pleasure to have contributed in helping you achieve your goals.

Elementary Science

I mainly teach biology and chemistry. However having studied all science subjects and with a master's degree, I have the ability to teach all elementary sciences and help students which ever way they need.

Homeschool

Biology,

Biology

I studied Biology during high school. Then went on to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) during first year of Bachelors program. Since I had to choose between microbiology and chemistry, I was obviously inclined to a paramedical line-microbiology. However it was my roots in Biology that helped me advance my career so much. My experience today includes not only teaching, but also working in industry. It would be most important for me to help you achieve your goals, and that and that only will give me great job satisfaction.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I studied chemistry in high school. In my undergrad years I studied organic and inorganic chemistry. Although my major was microbiology, we used a lot of concepts of chemistry while working in laboratory. We also studied biochemistry and molecular biology which overlapped a lot of concepts of chemistry. My work experience includes using concepts of biochem, microbiology, molecular biology and chemistry. We used pH meters, mass spectrometry, chromatography, preparation of chemical reagents, acid-base titrations, and many more. I found all high school chemistry experiments very interesting as when I did them as a high school student, we had lots of fun and learning at the same time in our laboratory. We found them very insightful and enjoyed them thoroughly. When I teach these concepts to any student today I feel the same thrill and enthusiasm.

Microbiology

My association with microbiology is for 18 years now. I studied microbiology as an undergraduate student and then did dual masters degree in environmental microbiology. I have publication in microbiology both in India and USA. My work experience includes QC microbiology, Clinical Molecular Microbiology research, Antibiotic Susceptibility testing, Clinical trials, Microbiology assay development, During my college education and employment I did poster and oral presentations. I also obtained employee poster award during these time. Teaching gives me great joy as it also gives me a chance to go back to my roots of being a student of microbiology. It will give me a great pleasure to teach you and help you achieve your goal.

Knowledgeable, Patient and Highly Committed Tutor

Harsha has been teaching AP Biology to my daughter for about a month now and we see a drastic positive change in our daughter's understanding of the subject, and this is also reflected in her grades at school. Harsha is very knowledgeable, and her commitment and patience stand out. She is always in touch with my daughter to see what is currently getting taught at school and what's likely coming up next and puts in the effort at the beginning of every class to understand how much she has grasped the lesson and by the end of the class ensures my daughter has grasped the concepts in the lesson completely. Her commitment is especially seen whenever my daughter has an upcoming test. She will make the time to take an extra class if needed, or extend an existing class, so my daughter gets thorough before the tests. This is the kind of care that one would dream to get for their child.

Knowledgeable and very patient

We scheduled a lesson with Harsha with very short notice and she was able to arrange an open slot to give my daughter a lesson. My daughter had the first lesson with Harsha for her AP Bio and really loved it. Harsha helped my daughter to go over what she is getting taught at school and explain clearly what she doesn't understand. My daughter now is more confident with her AP Bio and for sure to take more lessons with Harsha. Highly recommended.

Patient tutor

Harsha taught me about cell structure and functions. She was very patient and answered my questions. Since this was my first class, we did not go into detail, but I understand as we move forward, we will go more in-depth. Overall I liked her way of teaching.

Knowledgeable and very patient

Harsha really helped me out with understanding a lot of concepts from Microbiology. She was very clear with explaining things and I really enjoyed my session with her. I would definitely recommend Harsha to help you out when you need that extra help if you're struggling with certain subjects.

Meticulous and flexible

Harsha teaches AP Bio to my son who is a junior high student in DHS. She is very meticulous in the way she teaches. Explains every small detail and explains again to ensure that my son has grasped the concept well. Has a flexible pace, if he grasps the concept faster then she teaches faster. Highly recommended.

Mashhood, 4 lessons with Harsha

Very thorough and able to understand what I need

Harsha was able to understand what I needed and adapt accordingly. She listened to me explain what I needed and came up with a plan to help me. She seems genuinely invested in making sure I learn the subject.

Patient tutor

Harsha came in for an introductory class and was very patient in answering all the questions my children had. She came up with a lesson plan on the first day itself. I would recommend her highly.

Encouraging and patient tutor

I hope parents find this message helpful. Harsha was a very couraging tutor. Though, my daughter spend a short period of time with her. She was very good with concepts and she will constantly ask questions regarding the lessons to make sure my daughter understood her lessons. She is also quick to respond to any and all questions related to tutoring appointments or problems outside of tutoring sessions. I would highly recommend Harsha as a tutor.
