Hello! My name is Addison, and I am a history expert and lover! I have been a history nerd from elementary school until I matriculated to college and graduated Magna cum laude (3.76 GPA) with a BA in history. I have also been a Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors Society) member since 2021. Throughout my schooling career, I have earned straight A's in every history course I have taken, including IB courses I took in high school.

As a college student, I discovered my love for teaching and tutoring students when I began tutoring my peers on various difficult-to-grasp historical topics. I tutored my peers for three years in a one-on-one setting. My best success story was when a student who originally lacked the understanding to participate in class successfully delivered a presentation on the intricacies of the Japanese invasion of Korea. Now that I have graduated, I am excited to continue helping students discover their love for history.

My tutoring style is very hands-on. During my extensive schooling, I often encountered unengaging teachers and professors who seldom allowed us students to speak in class and show our knowledge. This made the learning process increasingly difficult and unexciting. Consequently, I understand the importance of keeping students engaged and making history fun for all age groups. Some methods I use while tutoring to help students better grasp information are analogies, games, and visual tools such as videos and photos. My tutoring style is also student-led. I avoid long lectures, and I involve the student to ensure I keep their attention and verify their understanding of the subject material.

I also have effective studying methods and exam-taking tips to help students struggling with assessments perform better, especially on essay exams. My primary aim in helping students prepare for exams is to demystify the exam-taking process and ease students' anxiety.
