Songwriting

I use techniques such as alliteration when writing lyrics as well as finding a song in a particular idiomatic style that appeals to me. Another technique I like to use is create the melody, then the bass line. This will insure a solid foundation for the other instruments. I am getting some nice results from my students. I have been writing songs for forty years and I am a publisher and songwriter with B.M.I. I have my own personal production studio. I am using "Studio One" Digital audio workstation. It is a great way to teach songwriting.

Thank you for working with Abby. She looks forward to your lessons and is keeping interest in music. She learn a new song on her own last night and I am thrilled. Great job.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Bennie is teaching my son and I piano. He is very patient with us as we are extreme beginners. He is teaching us the proper form and technique. And he is just an awesome guy. And his wife is so kind and helpful. My son and I absolutely love our lessons.

Knowledge and understanding tutor

Great Lesson, Mr. Bennie was extremely knowledgeable about guitar and how to stay in beat. For instance, he had a great analysis on how to use Scale Structure effectively.

Great Instructor!

Learning to keep rhythm. Still working on it, but Bennie is so patient and understanding of my time constraints on practicing. He's thoroughly knowledgeable on music theory and slowly walking me through learning the guitar at my own pace. Thanks Bennie!

Good teacher with experience

Bennie played song examples on his piano and sang examples to show the difference. Very nice, good teacher. He showed techniques he uses on writing his personal songs. He taught me about song Aliteration and why many pro's use this style as does he.

Outstanding Teacher and Mentor

Bennie is an outstanding teacher and mentor. He is so detailed and knowledgeable along with a great work ethic. He pushes you to find your own musical voice and expression with the theory that he is teaching. In my opinion that is a sign of a great teacher who encourages you to find you in music. Thank you Bennie

Last minute help

It was difficult getting started on zoom due to visuals but we made it work. I could see and hear him. Benny was clear and concise. He helped give some important tricks to ear training. These tricks will come in handy for the my next assignment. Thank you Benny.
