I'm Roman! In 2023, I graduated with two degrees, both summa cum laude: a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology. During my time as an undergraduate, I worked as an analytical chemistry researcher, a genetics and genomics researcher, and a chemistry and math tutor. I have authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers pertaining to chemistry and genetics. I was briefly a Ph.D. student in a biochemistry research program at one of the top research hospitals in the U.S. before pivoting my career to software engineering. As you can tell, there are few things I enjoy more than math and science!
The only thing I enjoy more than learning math and science is teaching it to others. I worked for two years as a chemistry and math tutor as an undergraduate, and during this time taught subjects to students including general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, calculus, and physics. I have also privately tutored high school students in math, chemistry, history, writing, and preparation for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. My students consistently rate me highly as a tutor, and there is nothing more gratifying than my students going on to earn high scores on their exams following our tutoring sessions. I like to employ the unique methods I used to study in high school and as an undergraduate that earned me top scores in all my classes, making studying fun, efficient, and rewarding for my students.
I have extensive experience tutoring students virtually, in group settings, and one-on-one, so there is no teaching setting that is foreign to me. Many of the students I have tutored have been high school or college students, though I get along well with students of any age thanks to my adaptable and effective teaching style. Even though I am confident in my ability to tutor students, I am always seeking to improve my methods and welcome any suggestions, questions, or resources. Feel free to contact me and set up a session with your student!
